Michelle graduated from Rollins College in 2010, cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the International English Honor Society Sigma Tau Delta. She received the Charles Hyde Pratt Award for Excellence in Creative Writing in 2010.

My Interview with Michelle...
1. What inspired you to write The Secret Diamond Sisters?
I visit Las Vegas every year because of a family event, and I was walking through my favorite hotel — The Wynn — when I thought, “What would it be like to live here?” From there, the idea for The Secret Diamond Sisters formed! At that time (2010) it felt like everything new being published was an intense/dark paranormal or dystopian, so I thought it would be fun to be different and write a glitzy contemporary.
2. What can you tell us about the person behind the author, who is the real Michelle Madow?
Writing and reading are such huge parts of my life, and therefore a huge part of who I am! But besides reading and writing, I love quality time spent with family and close friends. I love traveling, and want to go on a world cruise at some point in my life. I dream big, and work hard to make my dreams become reality. It takes me a while to truly open up to people, but once I do, it’s because that person is very special to me and someone I trust. I haven’t given up on true love and fairy tales, and hope to find that for myself someday. I place a ton of value in being good to others, and understanding that everyone has a battle/journey they’re going through. I always try to see the world from points of views that aren’t my own and learn from them—which is a huge reason why I love reading.
3. Do you have anything else in store for 2014 that you can tell us about?
Diamonds in the Rough, the second book in The Secret Diamond Sisters trilogy, is estimated to come out in November 2014. In Diamonds in the Rough, major secrets will be uncovered that will change everything. I don’t want to give anything away, but I hope you end up feeling completely differently about certain characters by the end of Diamonds in the Rough than you did at the end of The Secret Diamond Sisters!
